Social Skills & Emotional Regulation Skills to Succeed at Work

For school leavers ages 15-35

Teens & Adults learn in separate learning mini-groups, with content relevant to their stage of life.


Course: Equipping Young People For Future Careers

This course is for people with Autism, Anxiety or for any person who wants to grow their social skills.


IMPORTANT: NDIS MAY NOT FUND EMPLOYMENT SKILLS  (EXPECT THIS TO POTENTIALLY BE PAID OUT-OF-POCKET)

EXCEPTIONS: Parents are telling us that they are being told by LACs/co-ordinators that  NDIS funds CAN be used if:

on a 'self-managed plan' OR

plans with 'Increased Social and Community Participation' (if employment skills is a goal)

This is our premium employment course for teens and young adults with or without Autism.

It is a fun skills upgrade. It equips your young person with a new range of skills for interacting with others in a workplace context. 

STUDENT Training

4 Sessions

'Bulletproof At Work' For 12-17 yo & 18-35 yo Students

This course equips young people and adults with or without Autism to gain skills and confidence for their next great experiences in the work-place. It's a fun, interactive role-playing learning program.

Autism: Bulletproof at Work Course Content

Learn how to:


Bulletproof Skills You Will Learn:

  • How to accept feedback and guidance from others
  • Personal organisation skills - being reliable and ready
  • Teamwork Skills for enjoying working alongside others
  • Feeling anxious/upset: How to tactfully tell your colleagues or manager when you’re struggling 
  • Asking for help appropriately and confidently
  • Following work procedures (Even if they don't make sense)
  • Dealing with day-to-day conflicts in the workplace
  • Accepting feedback with a positive attitude (Avoid misreading the intentions behind feedback)
  • How to make your resume stand out
  • Job interview skills: the formula for confidently succeeding
  • Life planning - What’s this job a stepping stone towards


Bulletproof Interactive Projects

(With the Support of Parents/Mentors):

  • Create your bulletproof resume
  • Participate in a live job interview (We provide the mock-employer)
  • Conduct yourself in a live workplace (Parents/Mentors create a mock-employment situation)


THE Process WORKS

Social & Life Skills Taught in a Comfortable Way For Autism, Anxiety or Anyone Who Wants To Grow Skills

Each session, the student learns a new social skill, broken down into simple steps.

Your student experiences new skills in a fun way

You practise new skills in a supported environment

Each student plays fun role-playing games to discover effective ways to apply their new skills

We help you to try out these skills at home, at work or at school for yourself

We collaborate with parents, mentors and teachers to create opportunities for the new skills to be used

NDIS IS NOT LIKELY TO FUND THIS - EXPECT THIS TO BE PAID OUT OF POCKET

Chat with your plan manager/support co-ordinator for what is relevant to your situation.

It may be helpful to know that some families have told us they have used 'Increased social and community participation', but they have also told us that employment skills need to be within their participants NDIS goals to be eligible. We can't give any NDIS advice, so please chat with your plan manager/support co-ordinator or anticipate the course being paid out-of-pocket.


Total Program Cost

The fee covers the following:

  • Intake interview & assessments
  • 4 x 90 minute student group program sessions (10 weekly sessions and 1 follow up session)
  • Parent/mentors participating during sessions
  • Ongoing mentoring and support throughout the week
  • Meetings/Communication with other providers
